What to ask the tanker company before comparing prices

  • Is the quoted price inclusive of VAT and disposal charges?
  • How much hose length is included before a surcharge applies?
  • Is there a surcharge for difficult access, remote properties or emergency call-outs?
  • Does the quote cover full desludging and a basic visual condition check?
  • Can they provide waste-transfer documentation and confirm they are authorised to carry the waste?

Why SepticSpec does not hard-code a “UK average”

Emptying prices move with disposal fees, tanker travel distance, access, sludge volume and region. A local quote is more useful than a national headline. The calculator therefore defaults to an editable example rather than presenting that example as a market fact.
