Independent by design.

SepticSpec exists to help a homeowner understand the specification before speaking to a manufacturer, installer or groundworker.

What SepticSpec does

SepticSpec turns official guidance and transparent formulas into practical planning tools for off-mains foul drainage. The core calculator joins population sizing, tank capacity, daily flow and drainage-field area into one result.

What we deliberately do not do

  • No installer lead-generation forms.
  • No paid ranking of tank brands or contractors.
  • No claim that a browser calculator can approve a site.
  • No storage of your property inputs on a server; the core calculations run in your browser.

Method updates

Regulatory pages are checked against official regulator sources. Material methodology changes are dated on the relevant page. The current England ground-discharge guide includes the Environment Agency update published 23 July 2026.
